Obtain services from your state vocational rehabilitation center. Every state has an office that provides vocational assistance to the disabled. They provide access to resources to assist disabled people prepare for and obtain employment. For a student, this may include assistance with books, transportation, apprenticeships, adapted equipment and referral services.
Apply for federal financial aid. Students who receive Social Security Disability Insurance benefits may qualify for grants and scholarships based on need.
Contact the school's disability office. Every college has a department that provides assistance to students who are disabled. The office will be able to and act as a liaison between students and teachers if necessary.
