Depending on the institution and your area of specialization, your curriculum will include macroeconomics, economic history and various mathematical instruction. You are generally required to maintain a 3.0 GPA and a B or better in all coursework.
Begin preparing for the masters thesis or capstone project as soon as possible after being accepted in the program. You will have to successfully present a culmination of your understanding of the economics curriculum to be awarded your graduate degree. Failure to complete the thesis/capstone in the required amount of time will result in dismissal from the program.
Apply for graduation before your last semester. There are normally graduation fees that need to be submitted with your application.
Use your completed thesis as part of your application for the PhD program in economics or as a foundation for a career in economics. Your thesis will show the depth and breadth of your knowledge.
