Students who have received a bachelor's degree in psychology can pursue this graduate program. The Association for Behavior Analysis accredits this master's program. As of March 2010, Dr. Jeffrey Mio was the head of the department of psychology and sociology's graduate studies program. This Master's program is intended for the psychology student looking to become a professional therapist.
This program includes hands-on therapy studies involving skills such as intervention with children, adults and groups. The program also covers identification of various types of abuse and how to report it. According to the program description on the CSPU website, students leave the program knowing how to properly form diagnostic impressions using the current edition of the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" (DSM).
