Expect the first section to be about the basics. You need to put in name, address, names of parents, social security number and citizenship status.
Get financial information from your parents. Although you are likely to fill out a FAFSA for financial aid, the application may request that you give your family's income. Avoid guessing at this number and instead ask your parents for the right figure.
Know all of your test scores. There will be a test score section on a college application. Most colleges ask for SAT or ACT scores along with your current GPA.
Answer all questions, even inquiries of religion and ethnicity. These questions are not used by the college to determine admission. They are instead used for reporting purposes.
Include a list of all extracurricular activities. The extracurricular list should include volunteer positions, sports, clubs and any other activities that you think the college wants to know about.
Send all documentation along with the application. The common college application is going to ask for you to send copies of your test scores, official transcripts and possibly a personal essay.
