Choose a format. Would you like to search for online or on-campus programs? Do you prefer a blended format--both online and on-campus? An on-campus program will provide you with a degree that is universally trusted by employers. However, online degrees from reputable schools can be just as valuable. If you have a full-time job or family commitments, the flexibility of an online program may suit your needs.
Grab a pen and a piece of paper and jot down the following sites: Peterson's, Princeton Review, U.S. News & World Report College Rankings, Best Art Schools (see resources below).
Visit Peterson's and click "online degrees" under "quick links." You can begin your search for online fashion design degree programs.
Go to "Best Art Schools" to search for top art schools by state. The interactive map makes locating schools in your neighborhood easy.
Visit Princeton Review and US News & World Report (see Resources section below). You can read about what your peers think about any given fashion design degree school or program. These sites (organizations) also tell you what they think about hundreds of schools and programs.
Double-check tuition rates (which seem to fluctuate every few months) by going to the schools' own sites. Also verify accreditation status. NASAD and The Council for Interior Design are the top accrediting agencies, but other recognized ones do exist.
Visit the U.S. Department of Education to access the official list of accrediting agencies.
