Visit the college website for the topics that you can write about. Some colleges have specific questions for you to answer. Read through the possible questions and pick a topic you can develop, such as what you plan to study in college and why.
Find your point of view on the topic. You have to know how you want to answer the question. You may want to write about becoming a doctor, for example, because you want to help people by finding a cure for diseases that are now incurable.

Personal details are necessary for writing college entrance papers because they show the people in the admissions office what type of person you are, which standardized grade reports can't do. You may choose to include a personal experience about a friend who died from HIV and tell how this inspired you to learn more about the disease.
Write a draft of your essay. Make an outline to help you. When you are finished, proofread the draft and fix any mistakes.
Discuss the draft with your high school English teacher. The teacher can help you fix grammatical errors that you may not have noticed and improve your sentence structure and the way in which you express your ideas.
Write the final draft of your college entrance paper. Make sure that the paper is typed, double spaced and in a 10- or 12-point font. The college website might specify a point size.
