Complete the online application form found on the Harvard Graduate School of Education website.
Write a statement of purpose. This statement should explain the applicant's reason for pursuing a graduate degree in education. Applicants must include information regarding academic accomplishments, key experiences in the field of education and plans to utilize the earned degree locally, nationally and globally. The statement of purpose must be 1500 words typed and double-spaced. This must be submitted through the Harvard School of Education website.
Remit payment of $85 through the Harvard Education School of Education website. Credit cards are the only acceptable payment online.
Submit online, through the Harvard School of Education website, three letters of recommendation. Letters must be written by persons who are able to provide insight about the applicant from a supervisory perspective. In addition, letters of recommendation should not come from friends or family members. It is highly recommended that at least one letter come from a university professor familiar with the applicant's academic work.
Submit a resume. Be sure to proofread for spelling and grammar. The School of Education does not require a specific format, however, the resume should reflect prior educational work experiences, academic achievements, earned degrees, previous institutions attended and any awards and recognition related to the field of education.
Order transcripts from all post-secondary institutions. Ensure that the transcripts are addressed to the Harvard School of Education.

Submit GRE scores. Acceptable GRE scores range between 460 - 650 verbal, 580 - 700 quantitative and 3.5 - 5 analytical writing. Once the full application and all support documents have been received, applicants will be contacted for an interview. After the interview, applicants will receive written documentation concerning the status of their application to the School of Education.
