A high GPA is required for acceptance to Baylor. Potential candidates should aspire for as high of a GPA as possible, aiming for 3.7 to 4.0. Also, a minimum of 90 hours at an accredited college is required before being considered for entry. Courses such as English, chemistry and physics are required in those 90 hours. Baylor College does require the student to major in a specific subject, but states that potential students usually major in biology, biomedical sciences, or another science-oriented major.
A high mark is required on the DAT for acceptance to Baylor. Baylor College recommends that the test be taken the spring or summer before you apply. Use the sample tests in order to acquaint yourself with the test format and various questions you will encounter.
An interview is required with the Admissions Commitee before acceptance into Baylor. Special consideration is given to those who have overcome academic or personal hardships, received special recognition or engaged in community service. Dress well and present yourself in a professional, clean and polite manner when addressing the members of the Admissions Commitee.
Applicants residing in Texas, or a state near Texas that does not have a dental school, take preference to the Admissions Committee. Other factors for admission include your parents eduction, your employment, your potential to contribute to the diversity of your class and any cultural and leadership opportunities in which you have participated.
