Enroll in the courses that St. Michael's requires for admission. Prospective students must take four years of English, three years of mathematics, three years of science including two lab courses, three years of social studies or history and two years of modern language. If you do not meet these requirements, add the necessary classes. Additionally, students who take honors or Advanced Placement courses have a better chance at admission than students who do not, so take the most challenging courses you can.
Confirm the application deadlines for the upcoming school year. St. Michael's has three deadlines: the Early Action I deadline, the Early Action II deadline and the regular application deadline. All of these deadlines are non-binding, meaning that you do not have to attend St. Michael's no matter when you apply. However, the earlier you apply, the sooner you will know whether you were accepted.
Submit the Common Application, the St. Michael's College supplement (available on the admissions page of the college's website) and your application fee. When completing short answer and essay questions, use specific examples. Do not simply say "I am a very hard worker." Instead, describe a time you went the extra mile to get something you wanted.
Give your guidance counselor a copy of the School Report Form, the Midyear Report and the Final Report, available on the St. Michael's College admissions website. Explain to your counselor that you wish to apply to St. Michael's and ask him to send them your transcript and the School Report Form as soon as possible. Tell him the Midyear Report and Final Report are due by the dates specified on the forms.
Ask a teacher who knows you if she would be comfortable writing a letter of recommendation. Because this letter will focus on your personal qualities as well as your work, it is important that this be a teacher with whom you have a relationship.
Ask two other adults to write you letters of recommendation. These can be teachers, but they don't have to be; a coach, pastor, employer or Scout leader could write your letters as well. However, your relatives cannot.
