What gcse subjects do you need to take become a barrister?

There isn't a specific set of GCSEs required to become a barrister. Universities don't stipulate particular GCSE subjects as prerequisites for law degrees (which are essential for becoming a barrister). However, strong grades across a range of subjects, demonstrating a good overall academic ability, are highly desirable. Subjects like English Language and Literature, Maths, and a humanities subject are often favoured, as they develop skills relevant to legal study. But ultimately, a strong overall GCSE profile is key, rather than specific subjects.
