To become a physical therapist assistant how long do you have to go college?

Typically, it takes two years of full-time study to earn an associate degree in physical therapy assisting (PTA). PTA programs are offered at community colleges, technical schools, and some hospitals.

PTA programs typically include courses in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, and therapeutic modalities. Students also gain clinical experience working under the supervision of licensed physical therapists.

After graduating from a PTA program, individuals must pass the National Physical Therapy Assistant Examination (NPTAE) in order to become licensed to practice.
