Edison State College is located in Naples, Florida. It offers a wide variety of associate and bachelor's degree programs, and has three campuses located in southwest Florida. Among the programs is the Early Childhood Education program. Students who successfully complete the required course work will receive the Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education degree. The Collier campus houses the Early Childhood Development Center. This facility provides students who are pursuing a degree in early childhood development with the opportunity to work directly with the Center's staff and children in an internship position.

Florida International University, located in Miami, offers education programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. One of the degree programs is the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development Track. This program is geared to those students seeking a career working with infants, toddlers, preschool, and primary school-age children. Students must successfully complete 120 credit hours to be awarded the degree. Financial aid is available to those who qualify, and undergraduate scholarships are awarded yearly.

It is part of Florida's system of 28 public community colleges and is accredited to offer bachelor's degree programs, associate degrees, and certificates. The Early Childhood Development program leads to the Florida Department of Education Early Childhood Professional Certificate.
