Among the school's courses of study are business administration, construction management, hospitality, sales, network security, dental assisting, billing and coding, criminal justice and paralegal studies. Certificate programs require only six to 12 months to complete, while the school's associate degree plans take 18 to 24 months of full-time study to finish. Internships are required or available in most programs. Established in 1957, California State University at East Bay is a public four-year college with a branch location in Concord. The school offers bachelor's degrees in business administration, justice, English, health sciences, history, human development, nursing, psychology, recreation, sociology and teaching. A graduate school is also located at the college and grants master's degrees in business, counseling and education. Federal grants and loans, institutional scholarships and work-study opportunities are available through the university. Academic advising, tutoring and personal counseling are available for students with a need. Health care is also provided to students free of charge. A number of student groups and organizations are located on campus for students to participate in, such as student government and national and local honor societies.
