How to Store Equations in the HP 50G

The HP 50G is a graphing calculator that allows you to write, execute and store advanced mathematical equations. Although this calculator has internal memory storage, the amount of storage is quite limited. Therefore, your HP 50G also has an SD memory card slot, which allows you to expand the amount of memory on your calculator. Save your equations to the internal memory or the SD memory card on your HP 50G.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the equation that you want to store on your HP 50G calculator. Click the white "Back" arrow button in the lower-left corner and then select "Files" in the upper-left corner to open the "File Manager." You can select and open the equation from the File Manager.

    • 2

Press the "Store" button on your HP 50G. This is located near the upper-left corner of the HP 50G.

    • 3

Type in the number of the port where you want to store the equation. Type "2" to store the equation on the calculator's internal memory. Type "3" to store the equation in the SD card.

    • 4

Name the equation. Separate the port number from the name of the equation using a colon. For example, a final "Store" function would appear as follows:

      "3:Equation 1"

The previous example stores "Equation 1" in port 3, or the SD card.

    • 5

Press the "Enter" button on the HP 50G. This button is located in the lower-right corner of the calculator. You have now stored an equation in your HP 50G.
