Top Universities in America

According to U.S. News & World Report's 2010 ranked list, most of the top universities in America are private schools with relatively low acceptance rates. Acceptance rates tend to remain under the 20 percent mark, meaning that a strong high school academic record is imperative in order to earn admittance into one of these schools. Because the top American universities are primarily private, the cost of tuition for one full academic year is relatively high.
