Degrees in Automotive Engineering

Automotive engineering refers to the application of mathematical and scientific principles in the design and manufacturing of automobiles and similar vehicles. Elements of mechanical, electrical, software and electronic engineering are all incorporated into the conceptualization and implementation of automotive engineering. There are several undergraduate and graduate specialty degree programs in automotive engineering in the United States. Graduates can gain employment in the automobile industry in a variety of capacities, such as project management, research and design, automation engineering and quality assurance testing.
  1. Ferris State University

    • Ferris State University offers a four-year bachelor of science degree program in automotive engineering technology. Students receive both theoretical and hands-on training in mechanical testing, equipment operation and maintenance, instrument calibration, metallurgy, emissions and dynamometer testing, vehicular systems technology and automotive design.
