Located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, the College of Charleston's School of the Arts offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in music with concentrations in performance/music theory/composition or music history/literature. The school is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. The program also offers Artist Certificates in performance, a two-year advanced study for musicians who have completed their undergraduate degrees and wish to study while preparing for careers in performance. The music department of UNC offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study. Areas of performance study include voice, strings, piano, brass, percussion, jazz composition and music education. The school requires students to audition for admission and for scholarships. The UNC music department is also home to a number of music fraternities and service organizations like CMENC, Mu Beta Psi, Sigma Alpha Iota and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. In addition, the school invites eligible students to participate in the honors program.

University of Central Florida's school of music offers a variety of graduate and undergraduate programs of study. Undergraduates are open to pursue B.A.s in music and music composition; and B.M.s in music, music composition, jazz studies and music performance, among other programs. Graduate students can obtain a Master of Arts in music. The graduate program also offers part-time study for those who wish to enroll. Students are encouraged to join a number of ensembles like concert band, jazz lab and the UCF Symphony Orchestra.
