Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute is a two-year public community and technical college in the rural eastern North Carolina town of Hudson. Founded in 1964, today the college hosts an ophthalmic medical assistant program that takes one year to complete. The three-semester program prepares Caldwell ophthalmic graduates to perform ocular testing, administer medications and complete a range of other duties that these specialty medical assistants are usually responsible.
