How to Prepare for an Economics Test

Economics is the study of how goods and services are consumed, produced and distributed. When students study economics in college, it's often challenging as it isn't a subject that is commonly taught in high school. While the specific class and focus will vary, certain habits will help you prepare for an economics test.

Create flash cards. Make your own using index cards and pens or markers. Organize economics information on them such as examples of illustrations, pertinent lists, common terms, fundamental concepts and important names.

    • 2

Create a study guide outline and a list of key terms. Choose the format that works best for you. First, list key terms and definitions. Outline lectures and chapters covered in the course that may be on the economics test. Add difficult homework questions and assignments that were particularly difficult for you.

    • 3

Review all of your lecture notes. Highlight important information using a highlighter pen.

    • 4

Form study groups with classmates from your economics class. Working with other people is an effective way to prepare for an economics test. Ask questions to get clarification on topics or terms that you don't quite understand. Review each others' notes.
