Complete the application process for the college(s) that you want to attend, including any financial aid forms.
Speak with an academic adviser about your goals and ambitions pertaining to becoming an primary school teacher. You will need to discuss whether you want to specialize in one subject, work with special-needs children or be licensed for general education for primary school grades.
Ask about financial aid or student loan forgiveness programs. Many times, loans can be forgiven (paid off) if you complete a certain amount of work hours within a school district.
Focus on your courses, and participate in any internships or volunteer work that will help you find the right teaching setting for you. You can volunteer at local preschools, churches or schools and work with a variety of different children. Once you are working hands-on in the classroom, you may find that you want to adjust your courses to accommodate any special interests that you have acquired -- such as working with special-needs children.
Complete all the requirements for your degree and teaching license, then seek work in your preferred location and setting.
