Collins College is a technical and design school located in Tempe, Arizona, just southwest of Phoenix, and, as of 2011, enrolls approximately 1,500 students. The college's principal programs of study include film and audio FX, information technology, game design, fashion and graphic design. Collins offers tutoring and mentoring programs for its students, as well as a number of extracurricular activities including sports teams and student government.
Argosy has locations in 13 states nationwide, and boasts both undergraduate and graduate programs at its location in central Phoenix. As of 2010, Argosy enrolls 770 students in seven areas of study. Undergraduate programs include psychology, criminal justice and business administration, while the graduate school offers advanced degrees in psychology, education, business and medicine.
Lamson College is located in Tempe, and is the state's oldest private college. As of 2010, Lamson enrolls approximately 300 undergraduate students. Lamson offers degrees in medical, business and paralegal fields, and its class schedule is designed to accommodate the needs of working students. Lamson offers tutoring, academic advising, and job placement to those it enrolls, but there are no student housing options.
The Art Institute of Phoenix was founded in 1995, and is associated with The Art Institute schools nationwide. As of 2009, the school enrolled 1,100 students. The school is located on West Dunlap Avenue in central Phoenix, just off of interstate 17. The Art Institute offers programs in design, culinary arts, fashion, and media arts, including digital filmmaking and photography, and game and Web design. While the school does not have a traditional campus, it does offer student housing and dining.
