Visit a website such as Dustball.com, Articlechecker.com, PlagiarismChecker.com or DupliChecker.com. Each of these websites offers a free plagiarism checker that you can easily use online to check written work for originality.
Copy the text of the essay or article you wish to check onto the clipboard of your computer by highlighting it and pressing "Control + C."
Place your cursor into the field in the plagiarism checker on the website and press "Control + V" to paste the text into the checker. Click the "Browse" or "Check" button. The plagiarism checker will scan the text against other written work on the Internet for originality.
View the results of the plagiarism checker. If you receive a result that indicates plagiarism, there is likely duplicated content in the text you submitted. Depending on the sensitivity of the checker, this duplicated content may be as little as one string of words or it may be more than that.
Use more than one plagiarism checker to check the same text to ensure originality.
