Houghton College is located in Houghton, in western New York. Gordon College was founded in 1889 with a goal "to prepare the people of God to do the work of God." Gordon is located in Wenham, Massachusetts. The multidimensional Christian college was ranked 160 of 610 on the 2010 Forbes Magazine list of top colleges. The college has 20 departments of study that range from art to sociology. Students at Gordon have access to financial aid, grants and scholarship; in fact, over 90 percent of the student body receives some sort of aid.
Philadelphia Biblical University has seven departments that offer a bachelor's or master's degrees. Despite the University's name, PBU is actually located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania and was founded in 1913. Applicants to PBU must submit a $25 application fee with their official transcripts. They also must submit a personal essay about their journey to finding Christ and what their goals are. The whole application process is capped off by an interview with PBU admissions staff either in person or via telephone.
