Colleges & Universities Offering a Forensic Psychology Major

Forensic psychology is a specialized area of practice, focusing on the relationship between psychology and the criminal justice system. Forensic psychologists may work in universities, the court system, or even in penal institutions. Undergraduate majors in forensic psychology are found only at a few schools.
  1. Castleton State College

    • Castleton State College, in Castleton, Vermont, is a small college with a total enrollment of 1900 students in a variety of disciplines. The psychology department offers forensic psychology as one of its three areas of concentration, along with developmental and health psychology. The concentration requires six courses totaling eight credits, and strongly recommends one course from the school's sister program in criminal justice.

    John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY)

The forensic psychology program is delivered by the School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences. Graduates receive a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, with the forensic psychology major. The course load is split between criminal justice and psychology classes.

    St. Ambrose University

    • St. Ambrose University is located in Davenport, Iowa, where it was founded in 1882 as a seminary. It has been a university since 1984, offering a full range of undergraduate and graduate degrees. The forensic psychology major is available for students earning either a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science.
