Ball State's Natural Resources and Environmental Management program offers certification in OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response and in Wildland Fire Training Systems. A major or minor in Natural Resources and Environmental Management are available. This program is beneficial to students with an interest in parks and recreation management, wetland characterization and delineation and water quality, conservation and hydrology.
The University of London offers a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Management, as well as a postgraduate certificate. These courses of study can take up to five years. The program provides education in the practical skills that are needed in the field of impact assessment, audit and law. The course includes text books, study materials and computer software, as needed.
The University of Flensburg offers a Master's degree in Energy Systems and Management. This degree program includes a specialization in Energy and Environmental Management in Industrialized Countries. This course consists of three main subject areas; Business Economics and Energy Economics, Project Management and Renewable Energy and Energy Planning. These programs require courses in basic planning and steering of development projects and environmental economics.
Once these programs have been completed, the student has a wide selection of occupations to choose from. These include opportunities as a teacher, politician, environmental consultant, urban planner, business owner, or historian. The student may also find employment in a research or educational institution or a charitable trust which has a focus on conservationism.
