Utah State University's Department of Plants, Soils and Climate offers undergraduate degrees in Environmental Soil/Water Science and Plant Science, along with graduate degrees in Plant Science, Soil Science and Ecology. All degree programs work with the USU Crop Physiology Laboratory, which offers concentrations in hydroponics and plant nutrition. Research includes projects on soluble plant nutrient recipes and nutrient release control.
Delaware Valley College offers bachelor's of science degrees in Hydroponic Crop Science. These four-year degrees prepare students for careers in the fields of hydroponic crop management and research. Study focuses on water conservation methods, reduction in chemical pesticide use and high-yield production methods.
Cornell University offers a Biological Engineering undergraduate degree with a focus on Controlled Environment Agriculture. This focus includes studying year-round food production methods including greenhouse growing and hydroponics. Students also learn how to use controlled environment growth to study and develop pharmaceuticals from plants.
The University of Arizona hosts a Controlled Environment Agricultural Center, or CEAC, that works with students seeking Plant Sciences and Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering bachelor's or master's degrees. The Plant Sciences program focuses on the study of plants while the biosystems engineering program focuses on the use of local resources in agriculture.
