School Librarian Gifts

Offer practical, usable and charming gifts to your school librarians to show them how much you appreciate them. You can give them gifts during the holidays, at the end of the school year, or whenever you feel like it. Think of incorporating their love of books in the tokens of appreciation. Take it a step further by doing a themed gift inspired by a favorite book.
  1. Book-related Key Chains and Mugs

    • Make your keychain and mug gifts extra special by selecting one that has a book design on it. If you can find a keychain or a mug with one of her favorite books printed on it, that is even better. You can also order personalized mugs and acrylic key chains with favorite lines from a book, a book character or the name of the book's author. Mugs can also double as penholders or desk organizers for the school librarian.

    Open-Book Clocks and Frames

    • Clocks in the form of open books are charming gifts to give to school librarians. One side of the book houses the body of the clock while the opposite side is decorated with book details. If you can get to write some passages from her favorite book, that will make the gift even more special.

Open-book designs are also used to house picture frames. They may hold one or two photographs; these can be a great way for a librarian to display images of a spouse or children.

    Bookworm Magnets

    • Refrigerator magnets are practical and affordable gifts. Select a refrigerator magnet that has a bookworm design or anything related to being a librarian, such as a stack of books.

Some printers even allow you to design your own magnet, which they will print on magnetic paper. You can make a faux library card magnet with a date of return stamped on it. Or print out a quoter from his favorite book or include the librarian's name on the magnet.

    Book Lovers Gift Basket

    • Create a book lover's gift basket for your librarian. You can make it with a a book basket containing one of her favorite books in a special edition, book marks, plus a portable reading lamp. You can also include a book-themed mug and teas or coffees.

You can even make a themed basket relating to a book. For example, recreate pieces of the "Alice in Wonderland" story in basket. Include a pack of playing cards, a wild hat, and some small tea biscuits reminiscent of the story. Wrap this Alice in Wonderland basket in pale blue and black ribbons to reinforce the theme.
