Ask for a little-known fact about the college's history that you can share in your speech. State how the college has continued to climb, becoming one of the most respected public institutions in the country.

Talk about alumni who have achieved a quieter greatness and explain that Queens College is equally proud of successful, however, less famous alumni like Werner Baer, a professor at the University of Illinois, or David Adler, the author.
Conclude your speech by saying that because students at the college have proven to be so ambitious throughout the years, the college has been able to raise its academic and test score standards for admission. Explain that the university owes a lot of its success to the rigorous standards of its students.
