He knows how to present new ideas with strong supporting information and to choose the correct words that will appeal to his listeners. A critical thinker can use rhetoric to convince others that his argument is the correct one. He can effectively show how he has evaluated information, considered consequences and made judgments about the information. He can craft a strong argument with solid supporting information to influence his listener's thoughts and decisions.
When considering information, a critical thinker is able to present his point of view clearly, after careful consideration of all the evidence. He can also change his point of view when new information is revealed and most importantly, can defend his point of view, if questioned. He can use language to craft a serious response full of supporting evidence when others challenge his point of view. He is able to present logical arguments and attempts to make sure that his arguments and point of view are relevant, precise and fair.
Successful communication is the true goal of language, and a critical thinker is able to use language to communicate effectively both in verbal and written form. His ideas are presented with clarity and order and seek to encourage interesting, useful conversation. He does not waste time with trivial information. He ensures there is depth to his arguments and that the information he shares is significant to the topic of conversation. A critical thinker is a master communicator.
