Students are committed to a one year program and they can work locally at government agencies and nonprofit organizations to extend their helping hand to different communities. Upon completion of the program, students may choose from one of two incentives: 1) An education award of $4,725 to go towards your college education. 2) $1,200 in cash to spend however you want. PeaceCorps: Almost like AmeriCorps, except you work oversees for 27 months. It seems like a long time, but it will be a once in a lifetime experience. Think about what this opportunity can do for your resume if you are a student. PeaceCorps may pay you up to or at least $6,000 for you to spend however you want. Another plus side to this is while the student is serving, college loan payments may be deferred until he/she returns home. You may visit Peacecorps.gov for more information.

Students may volunteer to teach students across the nation who may not have the privileges of a better education. There is no license or certification required, as training will be provided. The reward for your commitment is forbearance on your student loans and a $4,725 education award. Visit Teachforamerica.org for more information.
