Where does the evidence that supports your thesis belong?

The evidence that supports a thesis belongs in the body paragraphs of an essay or other written argument. The thesis statement itself is a concise summary of the main argument, but the body paragraphs provide the detailed explanation and supporting evidence (facts, statistics, examples, expert opinions, etc.) necessary to convince the reader.
