The Harlem Renaissance was a period in the 1920s and 1930s when African-American culture flourished in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. It produced many talented artists, writers, musicians, and poets who helped to change the way that African-Americans were perceived in the United States.
Two things that the Harlem Renaissance accomplished are:
- It helped to create a sense of racial pride and identity among African-Americans.
- It introduced African-American culture to a wider audience and helped to break down stereotypes about African-Americans.
