The Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award is Vermont's only statewide book award for children's literature. The award is presented annually by the Vermont Department of Libraries to a living author for a children's book published in the previous calendar year.
The award is named for Dorothy Canfield Fisher, a Vermont author who wrote more than 40 books for children and adults. Fisher was a passionate advocate for children's literature and believed that books could help children to learn and grow.
