The Red Cliff Award, officially the Red Cliff Chinese Literature Prize, is a literary award established in 2005 by the Chinese Writers Association to honor outstanding novels written in Chinese. It is named after the Battle of Red Cliff, a decisive battle in Chinese history that took place in the year 208 AD. The award is presented every two years, and the winner receives a cash prize and a trophy.
The Red Cliff Award is one of the most prestigious literary awards in China and has been awarded to some of the country's most renowned writers, including Mo Yan, Yu Hua, and Su Tong.
