Why was 2 kings written?

The second part of the Books of Kings was created by later writers and editors from older materials, mainly the works of three anonymous prophets whose contributions are distinguished from one another by differences in style and theological viewpoint. Some of the material may also have appeared earlier in the lost Book of the Acts of Solomon.
