How do you notate a newspaper?

To notate a newspaper, follow the MLA citation style for print newspaper articles:

Author's Last Name, First Name (or Initials). "Article Title." _Newspaper Title_ [City of Publication], Date of Publication: Page(s).

Examples:

- O'Brien, John. "New Medical Study Reveals Link Between Diet and Cancer." _New York Times_ 13 July 1999: B1.

- Smith, Jane. "Local School District Faces Budget Crisis." _The Gazette_ [Anytown, MN] 18 Oct. 2002: A1.

If accessing an article online, include the URL (or DOI) and access date:

- Author's Last Name, First Name (or Initials). "Article Title." _Newspaper Title_ [City of Publication], Date of Publication: Page(s). URL [or DOI]. Access date.

Example:

- Jones, Sam. "The Rise of Artificial Intelligence." _The Washington Post_ 21 Mar. 2023: A2. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2023/03/21/the-rise-of-artificial-intelligence/. Accessed 23 Mar. 2023.

The access date is crucial when working with online articles as the content can change or become unavailable.
