The 5f belgie coin was introduced in 1947 and was in circulation until 1999. It was composed of copper-nickel and had a diameter of 24.5 mm. The obverse of the coin featured the effigy of King Baudouin, while the reverse featured the denomination and the national emblem of Belgium.
The 5f belgie coin was a popular denomination in Belgium and was widely used for daily transactions. However, with the introduction of the euro in 2002, the belgie was replaced and the 5f belgie coin ceased to be legal tender.
