The only place to take the SAT in Clovis is Clovis High School. It offers three Saturday testing dates every spring and three testing dates every fall. Tests also are offered on several Sundays throughout the year for students who are unable to take the test on a Saturday due to religious practices. Check the SAT official website (see Resources) for testing dates and registration deadlines.
There are two ways to register for the SAT. You can go to the SAT official website and pay your registration fee with a credit card, or you can get a sign-up packet from a high school counselor and pay your registration fee by check. Check the SAT website for current registration prices; as of 2011 the test cost $47.
Most students take the SAT twice, once in the spring of their junior year of high school and again in the fall of their senior year, to have a score in time to file their college applications. There is no hard and fast rule about when to take the test, and students can take it as many times as they like.
Students are eligible for special accommodation during the test if they have a documented disability. Accommodations can be made for wheelchairs and students who need a printed copy of the vocal directions the proctor gives or access to food or medication during testing times. To apply for accommodations, complete and mail in a Student Eligibility Form, which should be available from a high school counselor, before you register.
