  1. How to Study for CLEP Exams

    • 1

Find out whether the college you are attending accepts CLEP credits and/or offers testing on site.

    • 2

Search for a test--there are 34 choices, ranging from foreign languages to business to English/language arts. All of the tests offered cover what would be introduced over a semester-long course.

    • 3

Register for a test at the nearest testing facility. Register at least a month before taking the test.

    • 4

Gather a variety of study resources. Get the CLEP Official Study Guide ($24.95). Or, if you know you will only be taking one exam, you can buy or download specific exam guides for $10 from the official website.

    • 5

Set aside study time on a daily or bi-daily basis. These tests are difficult and can cover a wide variety of information.

    • 6

Study hard, stay calm and be confident. As long as you are prepared and feel comfortable with the information in the study resources, you will do fine.
