Block design -- The testee uses colored plastic blocks to reproduce an abstract design.
Similarities -- The testee is shown two similar objects and asked to describe the differences between them.
Digit Span -- The testee is shown a series of non-sequential digits and then asked to recite them in order. The second part of this sub-test requires the testee to recite the digits in reverse order.
Picture Concepts -- The testee is shown two rows of pictures of objects. Each row has one object picture in common with the other. The testee is asked to point out the two items that are in common.
Coding -- The testee is evaluated on his ability to manipulate a pencil to complete a written task. Organization of written ideas is also evaluated.
Vocabulary -- The testee is evaluated on the ability to verbalize concepts. Word knowledge and usage are important.
Letter-number Sequencing -- The tester reads a series of digits and letters at one character per second, and the testee is asked to repeat the numbers in ascending order, then to repeat the letters alphabetically.
Matrix Reasoning -- The testee is shown a group of designs and is requested to find the missing design from a selection of choices.
Comprehension - The testee is asked a series of questions that are loaded with social consequences. An example question may be, "What would you do if you found a hurt person lying on the ground?"
Symbol Search - The testee is required to determine if a particular symbol is among a group of symbols.
Picture Completion -- The testee is given a test item and asked to separate the essential parts of the item from the nonessential parts.
Cancellation -- The testee is asked to visually scan an item, then to mark her response with a pencil. Speed is important in this test.
Information -- The testee is questioned about what he has previously learned at home or school.
Arithmetic -- The testee is asked to mentally solve arithmetic and word problems.
Word Reasoning -- This test requires the testee to reason a solution to a logical problem, then to express the concept in words.
Perceptual Reasoning Index -- This test requires the testee to use reason to organize visually perceived items.
