What GCSE grades do you need to apply for cambridge university?

There's no single answer to what GCSE grades you need to apply to Cambridge. Cambridge doesn't have a specific GCSE grade requirement. Instead, they look at your overall academic potential. However, most successful applicants have a high number of grades at 7, 8, or 9 (or A*/A under the old grading system). A few 6s might be acceptable, depending on the overall profile.

It's crucial to understand that GCSEs are only one factor considered in the application. Much more weight is given to your A-level (or equivalent) predicted grades, your performance in the admissions test for your chosen subject, your personal statement, and your interview performance. Having excellent GCSE results significantly strengthens your application, but they are not a guarantee of admission. A strong application demonstrates academic excellence across the board.
