How smart do you have to be get a 100 on the ASVAB test?

There's no single intelligence level required to score a perfect 100 on the ASVAB. The test measures aptitude in several specific areas, not overall intelligence. A perfect score requires a high level of proficiency in *all* those areas: verbal expression, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, arithmetic reasoning, mathematics knowledge, spatial visualization, general science, and mechanical comprehension.

Someone could be exceptionally gifted in some areas but struggle in others, preventing a perfect score even with a high overall intelligence. Conversely, someone with a more evenly distributed aptitude across all the measured areas could achieve a perfect score without necessarily having an exceptionally high IQ. The test is designed to assess your *potential* in different military occupational specialties (MOS), not your general cognitive ability.
