What is the frequency of infra red?

Infrared radiation, abbreviated as IR, is a type of electromagnetic radiation that lies between visible light and microwave radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum. It is generally classified into three main regions:

1. Near-Infrared (NIR): NIR covers the frequency range of approximately 300 THz to 400 THz, corresponding to wavelengths between 0.75 micrometers (µm) and 1.4 µm.

2. Mid-Infrared (MIR): MIR covers the frequency range from around 400 THz to 25,000 THz, corresponding to wavelengths between 1.4 µm and 100 µm.

3. Far-Infrared (FIR): FIR covers the frequency range above 25,000 THz, corresponding to wavelengths longer than 100 µm.

In terms of frequency, the entire infrared range extends from approximately 300 THz to over 25,000 THz.
