Changing active to passive voice formula and example?

To change an active voice statement into passive voice, follow these steps:

1. Identify the subject and verb of the active voice sentence.

2. Change the subject of the active voice sentence into the object of the passive voice sentence.

3. Add the appropriate form of the verb "to be" (am, is, are, was, were) before the past participle of the main verb.

4. Change the main verb of the active voice sentence into the past participle form.

Example:

Active voice: The cat chased the mouse.

Passive voice: The mouse was chased by the cat.

In this example sentence,

- The subject of the active voice sentence is "the cat".

- The verb of the active voice sentence is "chased".

- The object of the active voice sentence is "the mouse".

- The past participle of the verb "to chase" is "chased".

By applying the steps mentioned above, we can transform the active voice sentence into a passive voice sentence.
