* A shoebox
* A piece of cardboard
* A ruler
* A pencil
* A pair of scissors
* A glue stick
* A paintbrush
* Acrylic paint in various colors
* Sand
* Small rocks
Instructions:
1. Measure and cut out a piece of cardboard to fit the inside of the shoebox. This will be the base of your ziggurat.
2. Glue the cardboard base into the shoebox.
3. Measure and cut out four rectangles from cardboard, each one smaller than the last. These will be the tiers of your ziggurat.
4. Glue the tiers of the ziggurat onto the base, starting with the largest tier at the bottom and working your way up to the smallest tier at the top.
5. Paint the ziggurat with acrylic paint in various colors.
6. Sprinkle sand and small rocks around the base of the ziggurat to represent the desert landscape of Mesopotamia.
7. Let the paint dry completely.
8. Your ziggurat of Mesopotamia is now complete!
Tips:
* You can use any type of cardboard for this project, but heavier cardboard will make a more durable ziggurat.
* Be sure to cut the tiers of the ziggurat carefully so that they fit together snugly.
* Use a variety of colors to paint your ziggurat to make it more interesting.
* Add other details to your ziggurat, such as people, animals, or trees, to make it more realistic.
