What is the main conflict of boxcar children?

In the Boxcar Children series, the main conflict is the children's struggle to survive after being orphaned and abandoned. While living in a boxcar that they found in the woods near their town, they had to learn to take care of themselves, find food, and avoid being discovered by adults. They were separated from their only adult role model and faced other difficult circumstances, creating an ongoing conflict throughout the series.
