Theodore Seuss Geisel, or as he is known to children worldwide, Dr. Seuss, is a time-honored children's author who promotes phonemic awareness, a key pre-reading skill, and basic reading skills through silly, nonsensical rhymes. “Green Eggs and Ham” was written using only 50 words in August 1960. His books have been delighting children since 1937, according to Scholastic. “Green Eggs and Ham” is a grade level 2 reading book, of interest to students from Kindergarten through Second grade.
