Preschool Art Projects: Snowman

Preschool children enjoy arts and crafts projects. These projects allow children the freedom to express ideas and creativity, encourage the learning of tools like pencils and crayons and let the children to enjoy their studies without feeling like the assignment is work. During the winter months, teachers can have the class make snowmen as a art project.
  1. Cut and Paste

    • To perform a cut and paste project, the teacher provides each student a picture of a snowman with all of the clothes to put on him. Children or the teacher must cut out the snowman and his clothing. The clothes are then glued or taped onto the snowman to give him a top hat, scarf or any other preferred item.

    Sticky Marshmallow Snowman

    • The teacher should provide the children with an outline of a snowman on a piece of paper and some marshmallows. The children will lick the marshmallows and stick them onto the paper. The marshmallows will stick and the children will enjoy the tasty treat.

    Cotton Snowman

    • Teachers can give the students a picture of a snowman, cotton and glue. The students will put down a layer of glue and stick cotton or cotton balls onto the paper to create a fluffy and soft snowman.

    Flour Snowman

    • Make a snowman out of flour by making the flour into dough. To prepare the dough, mix 1 cup of water with 4 cups of flour and knead the mixture. Give some dough to each student and tell him to roll the dough into three different sized balls. The student should pile the three balls with the largest on the bottom and the smallest on the top, then add buttons, twigs, small rocks or similar items to make the face.
