Jot down on a piece of paper a list of objectives. Sort them by categories that tie each together --- for instance, colors, shapes, music, animals and money.
Open your spreadsheet software. Create a page tab for each category. Double-click on the tab button at the bottom of the page that highlights the name of the tab. Type the name of the category into the field. Label each tab with the names of the categories you plan to teach.
Click on the first tab at the bottom-left of the screen, opening the first category page. Type the category name on the first line of the spreadsheet. On the second line type "teacher-directed activities." Divide the page according to your morning and afternoon schedule for activities. Create a column for each day of the week.
Scroll halfway down the page and type "free-play activities." List the activities you are planning down the page.
Design activities to fill the category pages. Your activities should follow a theme for each week. For example, for your theme of animals, you might use pictures of animals, videos of animals and perhaps bring in small animals, so that children can learn about the hard shell of a turtle or the softness of a rabbit. You can also schedule a trip to your local petting farm or zoo.
Type "theme-related materials" at the bottom row of the page. List materials that you can anticipate as necessary to help you fulfill your activities.
Repeat steps 3 through 6 for the additional category tabs at the bottom of the page.
Save the file and print it out as a guide to follow.
