Early childhood what is PECE?

The Portage Early Childhood Education (PECE) is an early childhood intervention programme.

The Portage Program is a comprehensive, home-based program that serves children with moderate, significant, or profound developmental disabilities. The Portage program is based on the principles of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), which is a set of teaching techniques that are based on the principles of learning theory. The program uses positive reinforcement and other ABA techniques to help children learn new skills and behaviors. The Portage program can help children with a wide range of disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental delays.

The program aims to help young children with developmental delays, particularly those with learning difficulties or disabilities. It has been used in early childhood intervention settings for over 40 years and is designed to help children aged 0-6 reach their full potential. The program uses a variety of methods, including observation, assessment, and individualised teaching plans, to help children develop skills in language, motor development, social development and cognitive skills.
